Information You Choose to Share

You do not need to create an account to read the site or use Character AI. When you contact us, we receive your email address, your message, and any page links or other information you include. We use that information to respond to questions, corrections, and rights or privacy requests.

Character AI Messages and Diagnostics

When you send a chat message, the site processes your message, recent conversation context, selected character, spoiler setting, and identifiers that connect requests within a conversation. Messages and relevant context are sent to external AI service providers to generate a reply.

For reliability, abuse prevention, and reply-quality review, we record technical details such as timestamps, IP addresses, session and request identifiers, a derived browser identifier, response timing, and errors. Diagnostic records may include portions of your message, a previous message, and the generated reply. Site administration may review these records when investigating problems.

Please avoid entering passwords, payment details, or sensitive personal information about yourself or other people. Chat is a fictional entertainment feature, not a confidential advice service.

Hosting, Video Delivery, and Analytics

Cloudflare provides hosting, content delivery, security, and web analytics. Analytics helps us understand page views, visits, referral sources, broad geographic patterns, devices, and page performance. Hosting and security services also process connection and request information, including IP addresses, to deliver pages and videos and protect the site.

Hosting, analytics, AI, and email service providers process information needed to supply their services. Processing may take place in countries other than your own. Their own policies and the terms of the services we use also govern their handling of data. See Cloudflare's Privacy Policy.

How Long Information Is Kept

Routine server-side chat monitoring records currently expire after seven days. Selected diagnostic copies may be kept longer for troubleshooting, security investigations, or handling a request. Contact messages are retained as needed for correspondence and follow-up; service providers may have separate retention periods.

The chat interface keeps recent conversation context in the current page. Resetting a chat or closing the page does not itself delete diagnostic records already stored by the service. To ask about those records, use the contact details below.

Cookies, Advertising, and Your Choices

We use Google AdSense for website verification and advertising services. When ads are served, Google and other third-party vendors may use cookies, web beacons, IP addresses, or similar identifiers to serve and measure ads. Advertising cookies can allow Google and its partners to personalize ads based on visits to this site and other websites.

You can review Google's use of information at How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services and manage personalized advertising through My Ad Center. You can also manage cookies through your browser settings.

Where advertising requires your consent, the applicable notice and choices will be provided when that advertising is enabled. The existence of this policy does not by itself enable advertising or constitute consent.

Articles and reading tools contain links to other websites. When you follow an external link, that website's privacy policy applies. We do not control how external sites collect or use information.

For a chat-related request, the approximate date, time, and character can help us locate the relevant records; do not send additional sensitive details unless needed.

We may need to verify that a request relates to you. Requests will be handled in accordance with applicable requirements, including any reasons records must be retained. Changes to this policy will be reflected in the date above.
